实际上，Humansinvent.com的说法是引用自：

这篇Times的文章似乎是介绍一种电动汽车，其中提到这种汽车可以做到超静音，但为了行驶安全，它可以在需要时播放模仿普通汽车行驶时发出的噪音，以提醒路上行人注意躲避。

综合snopes网友意见，我认为：

“ATM声音是假的”这种说法只有单一信源，该信源仅是一篇不相关文章中顺口一句话，没有给出这种说法的来源，可信度较低。除此之外，网络上至今没有看到任何业内人士站出来支持这一说法。
对这一说法的支持意见主要是基于两点：一是它在道理上可行；二是有人提到“ATM吐钞时发出的声音比我预想的要长。”这两天在逻辑上均不完善。

所以综合来看，按照国外网友的意见，”声音是真的“似乎占绝对优势？

不谈机具内部结构了。我个人看法是，

1，ATM内部完全没这个“假装出钱”声音的必要。
2，日用的点钞机的声音，就已经不小了。何况这么大的存取款机器，且里面传动系统都是硬质材料。

关于嵌入式（我们叫穿墙式）的ATM机具，其实机具本身的结构和大堂式的没什么大区别（体积会更大一点），前后开门区别而已。。吐吵的部分及用户操作部分和整个机身是一体的。。也就是内部的声音也是直接能听到的。墙不墙的，只是原po理所当然的想法而已


你听到的喀喀喀喀喀喀的声音，从机械传动来说，拿1张和拿10张，只有一个步骤是不一样的。
假设是这样一个流程[仅仅是假设]：

1，机器收到吐钞指令
2，分配吐钞
3，钞箱拉起
4，推开钞箱挡板
5，分拣钞票
6，传动到吐钞口
7，传动复位
8，打开吐钞口挡板

那么其实从步骤3开始，就有各种机械声音产生了，一直到8，也就是你看到钱为止，中间应该有数道/数十道工序在进行。因为并非钞票一直停留在工作位（所以把吐钞口砸了也看不到钱），其中分拣钞票仅仅是很小一部分的声音源。。另外里面也不是我们想象的，一个阿姨在里边蘸口水啪啪啪的在数钱。。。

Reddit网友JohnZorZ：humaninvent是胡扯。我修ATM修了4年，没有假声音，机器真的就是那么吵，开门的时候更是吵10倍以上。把钱从钱箱送上去的旋转带子根本不是什么“几乎无声"。而且他妈的ATM机里面哪来的什么鸟砖墙啊？！
